I haven't watched Chef's Table in a while now; I wasn't quite able to pinpoint why it felt like a chore, but your write-up perhaps explains it best.
And I get it: an event really has to catch my interest to get me to leave my home now! Not sure what it's about, but my hiatus from writing on here until now has given me some time to think about what else I want to write about. Sometimes, these breaks are what you need to reset!
Thank you very much. I think on the hiatus side, there’s a lot happening in the city but a lot of the same thing over and over which is disappointing. There are some exciting openings happening and I will check those out when I get back from holiday. If there is anything that you’ve been to recently that’s worth checking out, I’m all ears!
Thanks for the mention! Also, your take on Chef's Table is great. I was looking forward to it when the series was announced but I was so disappointed by the TK episode I haven't watched any of the others yet. I really don't understand why people want a hagiography made about them, especially now when it's so easy to Google a fuller picture. I'd respect TK much more if he'd discussed how he'd reacted to those reviews and bounced back from them for example.
Having been on a short hiatus myself, it's been refreshing. Perhaps a bit worryingly, I can't be convinced to leave the house. Enjoy Italy, no one has earned it more than you.
As you look ahead, I think there might be a series of posts providing the background and BTS of a certain major project. I think the good people of Substack would love to read all about it.
I can’t get on board with Chef’s Table— and haven’t been able to for years. I’ll take alll the Martha content, allll the time however. 💥

No question about it on that front: Girl and the Goose!
Yup! I went last year, but I’m gonna go back again this time because they had been open maybe two or three weeks. Gigi is wonderful!

Thanks for the shout out!
Thanks for the article. I haven’t laughed so hard in ages.
